Friday Flash 55! Mirrors and Shadows

The date stamped on the back is in 1923. The house is older than that, so the mirror on the medicine cabinet was something new, once. The reflection is poor, its tough to shave, even with all the lights on. Is it the age of the mirror or the shadows of reflections from the past....?

My wife and I moved into an old row home in a quaint section of town-this place has a REAL main street with small shops, small pubs and restaurants and no national or chain stores. The street is tree-lined and well maintained. The house is old but most of it has been updated-except the bathroom! It has an old claw foot tub, really bad linoleum on the floor....and a really cloudy mirror! Ah, well...happy Friday!

This reminds me so much about the Sylvia Plath poem, Mirror...

You forgot one thing though...it could be eyes that need glasses too!

The mirror will not hold shadows though...it only holds the 'present'(tense) as it is...

Could be a cool ghost story in that. Who's looking back from the mirror?

oh! we used to have an old duplex (1909). it had so much personality and i loved it. we also had a claw foot tub which i miss very much. i used to love thinking about all the people who must have lived in it before us.

Excellent 55 Mike...
I almost felt as if I were shaving there.
Old houses definately have a personality.
Thanks for visiting, and thanks for the thoughtful contribution..
Have a Great Week-End....Galen

I love the thought of the mirror holding on to a bit of everything it has reflected.

I tried a 55 for the first time today.

Neat 55 picture. Hubby and I just ripped the wallpaper off the bathroom walls getting ready to paint. The only thing of interest we found is mildew! Yikes. D
